Why Jewellery Photography is so important

11/19/2025

It is that time of year when many producers, crafts people and artisans are wanting to promote their products. Jewellery is especially popular in these darker winter months and I see more cleints with handmade items or commercially made pieces coming to me with their products and wanting strong images for their websites, blogs and online e-commerce platforms. Whether you're selling fine jewellery, handmade pieces, or fashion accessories, professional jewellery photos directly influence customer trust, conversions, and brand perception. The higher the quality of your images, the more likely customers are to buy from you.

Why Good Jewellery Photography Boosts Sales

Unlike in-store shopping, ecommerce customers can’t touch or try on pieces. Your photos must do all the talking. Sharp, detailed jewellery photography helps customers understand:
  • The true colour of gemstones
  • Metal textures
  • Craftsmanship and finishing
  • Size and scale
Clear, accurate visuals reduce uncertainty—and uncertainty kills sales.

Great Jewellery Photos Strengthen Your Brand Identity

Your imagery is often the first thing shoppers see. Clean, consistent jewellery photography communicates professionalism and quality, while poorly lit or blurry images create doubt.
Brands that invest in strong visuals enjoy:
  • Better recognition
  • Higher perceived value
  • Increased customer loyalty
In short: high-end photos make your jewellery look high-end.

Why You Should Hire a Professional Jewellery Photographer

Jewellery is one of the most challenging products to photograph due to its small size, reflectivity, and high-detail surfaces. Investing in professional jewellery photography ensures your products always look their best—no guesswork, no stress. Get in touch to discuss your requirements.
-Expertise in lighting reflective materials
-High-end macro lenses
-Controlled studio conditions with white background or lifestyle staging
-Retouching skills for gemstone brilliance
-Consistent visual styling for your brand

October Airbnb Shoot in Manchester

Last week I was asked to shoot an Airbnb in Manchester for a Nottingham client who I have done many shoots for over the last years. He requested a day shoot with video and drone footage content so we went up there in collaboartion with Anwick Creative and together we captured some great content to promote this city centre airbnb on all social media platforms. The forecast was typical for Manchester - wet! But we were very lucky that there were also some dry sunny breaks in the day. See above the promotional video and below some of the shots created for this airbnb.

Why Great Airbnb Photography Is the Secret to Higher Bookings

When it comes to creating a successful Airbnb listing, photography isn’t just an add-on—it’s one of the most powerful tools you have. In a world where travellers scroll quickly and make snap decisions, your photos are the first (and often only) chance to grab their attention.
Great Airbnb photography can elevate your listing, increase bookings, and showcase the true character of your space. Here’s why it matters—and how to make it work for you.

1. Photos Are Your First Impression

Guests browse Airbnb with one goal: find a place that feels right. Before they look at the description or amenities, they scan the images.
If your photos are dark, cluttered, or poorly composed, potential guests may scroll past—even if your space is amazing.
High-quality photos instantly communicate:
  • Cleanliness
  • Comfort
  • Space and layout
  • Style and atmosphere
In the world of short-term rentals, first impressions aren’t just important—they’re everything.

2. Professional Photos Increase Bookings

It’s simple: listings with professional photography get more clicks, more saves, and more reservations.
Professional Airbnb photos highlight:
  • Natural light
  • Accurate colours
  • Spaciousness
  • Unique design features
They make your space look inviting while remaining realistic—exactly what travellers want when choosing where to stay.

3. Better Photos Mean Higher Earning Potential

Great photography doesn’t just attract more bookings—it lets you charge more.
Airbnb’s own data has shown that listings with high-quality images often earn significantly more than those without. Why? Because better photos give your space a premium feel, positioning your property at a higher price point while still appealing to guests.
When travellers see quality, they expect to pay for it.

4. Show Guests What They’ll Experience

Photography helps set expectations—and the more transparent you are, the better your reviews will be. A detailed photo set reduces uncertainty, builds trust, and leads to happier guests.
Essential shots include:
  • Living areas
  • Bedrooms
  • Kitchen spaces
  • Bathrooms
  • Outdoor areas
  • Unique amenities (hot tubs, views, fire pits, workspace)
Guests love knowing exactly what they’re getting. Good photos tell the full story.

5. Stand Out in a Competitive Market

Airbnb is growing, and so is the competition. In popular cities, hundreds of listings compete for attention. Strong photography makes yours rise to the top.
With the right images, your listing stands out because:
  • It looks more polished than others
  • It communicates a professional, trustworthy host
  • It highlights the lifestyle your property offers—not just the rooms
People don’t book “a house”—they book the experience your photos promise.
